Red Ribbon Week and CHARACTER COUNTS! Week

celebrated together this October 27th – 31st 2008

 

The month of October commemorates two important activities.  From Oct 27th- 31st AMJES will be celebrating our 21st annual Red Ribbon Week and CHARACTER COUNTS! Week together.  During Red Ribbon Week students as well as staff honor a commitment to live a drug-free and healthy life.  CHARACTER COUNTS! Week is also celebrated in October to signify the importance of good character and our commitment to teaching character to our children.  Below are the daily activities.

 

Monday Oct. 27th

Will be wear RED DAY to honor their commitment to be drug free

The students will also be completing a drug-free pledge and tie red ribbons around all the trees at AMJES.

 

Tuesday Oct. 28th

We can all wear our favorite sports team clothing as we “Team Up Against Drugs”.

 

Wednesday Oct. 29th

To honor CHARACTER COUNTS! Week each grade level is asked to wear a specific color to symbolize one of the 6 pillars of character.

Kindergarten/Pre-K/ECE will wear Blue = Trustworthiness

First grade will wear Red = Caring

Second grade will wear YELLOW = Respect

Third grade will wear GREEN = Responsibility

Fourth grade will wear ORANGE = Fairness

Staff that do not belong to a specific grade level will wear PURPLE = Citizenship

Today at 9:00a.m. we will have our CHARACTER COUNTS! Assembly for our Responsible winners in our gym.

 

Thursday Oct. 30

“Living Drug Free is No Sweat “ All the students are asked to wear sweat pants or sweatshirts to show their support.

 

Friday Oct. 26th

On Friday were orange for “Orange you glad your healthy.”  We make healthy choices for our body and mind

 

There will be a small prize each day for the classroom with the most participation.
