Original Freedom Writer to Speak to Parents and Community
An Original Freedom writer whose story is told in the Hollywood movie, Freedom Writers, will be speaking with School District 180 students and parents this year. Mr. Scott's unique message is one that has entertained, educated and empowered almost a million people.
Manuel Scott was a student depicted in the movie, “The Freedom Writers”. His is an inspirational story and underscores the important role that we as a community play in our students’ lives. If you would like to learn more

Manuel will be speaking during the day to our middle school students on Thursday, September 8th. He
will be speaking to our parents and community members at AMJES on Thursday, October 6th at 7PM. (Save the date!)
Manuel will be back on Thursday, February 2nd to speak during the day to students, and
that evening to parents and community members. If you have read or seen the Freedom Writer’s Diary you are familiar with the message of hope that Manuel’s story holds.
