Our 6th graders wrapped up their novel study of Tiger Rising with a hands on activity- soap whittling, just like Rob does in the story. With bars of soap and tons of imagination, students carved animals, symbols and shapes that connected themes from the book: courage, grief, friendship and finding your voice. This activity brought literature to life and gave students the chance to express their understanding in a unique and creative way!
