Pre-K classes just concluded our Clothing Study with a trip to The Children’s Farm and a Storybook Dress up. Students learned how clothing was made, designed clothing, combed wool and cotton, and tie-dyed their own t-shirts.

The Salvation Army is currently registering families for their holiday assistance programs (food boxes for Thanksgiving and Christmas, toys for children). To be eligible for these programs, families must reside in Dupage County and provide the following documentation: Adult ID (license, passport, etc.), Proof of Address (current bill, etc.), Child ID (birth certificate, medical card, etc.). See the attached flyer and contact the Salvation Army directly if interested.
8th grade students just completed their first inquiry project! Students selected a current events or historical topic on human rights they were interested in and created a project to teach others about their topics.

BRMS wraps up Red Ribbon Week by “scaring away drugs”! Each student who dressed up donated $1 to Alex’s Lemonade Stand to help support pediatric cancer Research.

Installation has begun on our new solar panels thanks to two grants, the K-12 Solar Schools Grant and Cook County Solar Schools Grant. These panels will serve as both an excellent real-world teaching tool for our students and generate a bit of electricity for our school. We look forward to learning more about, and learning from, this cool piece of green technology!
